Got back to a normal training routine this week. I did my routine KettleWorX/Yoga core fitness training on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I ran on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for a total of 33 miles. Saturday was a rest day, but did about 40 minutes of yoga.
This upcoming week I’ll do the same routine, kettlebell, yoga, and running – but will add another 800 interval during my interval training on Tuesday. The following week I have a 5K race I am planning to run and will be aiming for a sub 18:30 time. The 5K race will be followed up a week later with a half marathon in early June.
Training Results this Week:
Monday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Tuesday – Intervals (Treadmill, 2% incline), 6 x 800s with 90 second rest between intervals. 1.5 mile warm-up, 1.75 mile cooldown. Ran intervals in 2:51 per interval (5:42/mile pace). This workout was a bit of a struggle, still tired from the hard running over the previous weekend.
Wednesday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Thursday – Tempo, 1 mile warm-up, 8 miles tempo (6:40 minute pace), 1 mile cooldown. Felt pretty strong on this run.
Friday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Saturday – Yoga (40 minutes)
Sunday – Long Run around the Yokohama (~ 16 miles, average 7:04 pace). Felt really good on this run.
