Did kettlebell and yoga for core fitness training on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I ran on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for a total of 36 miles. Saturday was a rest day, but did 50 minutes of yoga.
The upcoming week will be a light week since I’m planning to run a 5K race on Friday. I’ll do my kettlebell and yoga routine on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. On Tuesday I’ll do 6 x 400 intervals and rest on Thursday (with a little restorative yoga). In lieu of a tempo run, I plan to run a 5K this Friday, and if the conditions are good, hopefully run around an 18:30. I’ll do a moderate long run on Sunday, maybe 10 to 12 miles since I have a half marathon scheduled the following Sunday (June 5th).
Training Results this Week:
Monday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Tuesday – Intervals (Treadmill, 2% incline), 7 x 800s with 90 second rest between intervals. 1.5 mile warm-up, 1.25 mile cooldown. Ran intervals in 2:51 per interval (5:42/mile pace).
Wednesday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Thursday – Tempo, 1 mile warm-up, 8.5 miles tempo (6:35 minute pace), 1 mile cooldown. Felt pretty strong on this run.
Friday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Saturday – Yoga (50 minutes)
Sunday – Long Run around the Yokohama (~ 19 miles, average 7:39 pace). Bit of a struggle this week.
