Did kettlebell and yoga for core fitness training on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. I ran on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday for a total of 33 miles. Wednesday was a rest day.
This upcoming week will be basically the same routine to maintain my base. I’ll do my kettlebell and yoga routine on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday I’ll do 6 x 800m intervals, a tempo of 10 miles on Thursday, and long run of about 15 miles on Sunday. I will do a restorative yoga flow on Saturday as a rest day.
I have been noticing that maintaining pace is a struggle as it begins getting warm. The real hot weather is still not here, but I’ll need to begin reducing my pace a bit every week as the temperatures begin to rise.
Training Results this Week:
Monday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Tuesday – Intervals (5 x 1000m with a 400m rest between intervals, intervals between 3:36 to 3:41, average 3:37).
Wednesday – Rest Day
Thursday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Thursday – Tempo Run (10 miles, 1 mile warm-up, 8 miles sub 7 minutes, 1 mile cooldown)
Saturday – Kettlebell (26 minutes), Yoga (20 minutes)
Sunday – Long Run, (15 miles, 7:25/mile pace)
