The End of the World

“No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” – Matthew 24:36

This year has seen massive earthquakes, tsunamis, political unrest, financial upheaval, floods, droughts, famine in Africa…sounds like the birth pains to the end of the world.  Maybe it is, but nobody knows…nobody except God.  Even among all the signs of our time, Christians can take solace in the fact that our God will ultimately save us from this broken world.  This provides us the gift of true freedom to live a life of purpose and fulfill God’s destiny for our lives despite the depressing news that constantly bombards us.  Therefore, turn off the television, stop worrying, be compassionate and loving toward our fellow brothers and sisters, foster contentment, be grateful, and live a life that is pleasing to God — there really isn’t anything else you can or need to do.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” – Matthew 25:23

About runninginspired

I’m in my mid-40s and have been running for about 19 years. I have finished 24 marathons with a personal best time of 3:04. I currently reside in San Diego, CA. I enjoy running since it keeps you honest and will give back what you put into it. Work hard, but smart, and good results will eventually follow. I like to experiment with training plans, gadgets, shoes, and nutrition to find what works for me. The primary purpose of this blog is to document my training and thoughts about running in my ongoing quest to improve my fitness and health.
