Yamate Italian Gardens and Other Random Photos (Yokohama)

This weekend we visited Yamate Italian Gardens Park, located on top of the hill behind Ishikawa-cho Station in Motomachi.  Spent about an hour there having green tea and Japanese pastry, exploring the Diplomat’s House and Bluff 18 Ban-Kan residence which were relocated.  The land area was the former Italian Consulate during the Meiji Period and has a view that overlooks Yokohama.  The park also has a nice garden and water fountain.  There is not much English translation, except in the Bluff 18 residence.  The cost is free and they are open from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

About runninginspired

I’m in my mid-40s and have been running for about 19 years. I have finished 24 marathons with a personal best time of 3:04. I currently reside in San Diego, CA. I enjoy running since it keeps you honest and will give back what you put into it. Work hard, but smart, and good results will eventually follow. I like to experiment with training plans, gadgets, shoes, and nutrition to find what works for me. The primary purpose of this blog is to document my training and thoughts about running in my ongoing quest to improve my fitness and health.
